In 1910, Francis brought son David “Syd” Sydney Jackson into the business, Later, his sons W.H. “Bill” Jackson worked on locksmithing and gunsmithing for the company, while T.A. “Tom” Jackson was employed as an accountant.
Jacksons expanded into brass works in 1919. In 1928, the business moved into 106 Cameron St, Launceston. It made its headquarters there for over 76 years.
Jacksons Locksmithing, later Jacksons Security, has become a mainstay in the Launceston community and Tasmania at large, offering a suite of security services beyond traditional locksmithing, proving relevant and reliable in today’s modern age.

The Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) is a standing interdepartmental committee responsible for the evaluation of security equipment for use by Australian Government departments and agencies.
The Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL) is the largest security industry Association representing the security industry in Australia. From small, medium and large sized operations through to major users of security ASIAL represents all sectors of the security industry.
ASIAL plays a key role in driving Australian Standards, developing codes of conduct and raising the level of professionalism within the industry. As the voice of the industry, ASIAL performs a key role in representing the interests of the industry at a Federal and State/Territory government level.
The Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) is an independent professional body which is recognised and respected as the peak organisation for locksmithing professionals in the Pacific region.
The MLA has approximately 1,000 members providing a wide range of locksmithing and security services throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific region and South East Asia.

Locks of the same manufacture can usually be keyed alike. This means replacing your bunch of keys with a single key.

Yes we are able to cut the latest electronic car keys including remote keys and it is always a good idea to have a spare.
At Jacksons Security we can help you with all of your automotive lock and key needs. Whether it’s unlocking your car after hours, removing a broken key from your door lock, or producing new keys for the latest model cars.
All of our shops have the newest key cutting and transponder duplicating machines. We can copy most transponder keys for less than the dealer, and can duplicate most models of Holden Commodore keys and button remote heads. Come in to any of our locations and we will perform a free test on your key to see if we can make copies for you.
Is a service to remotely monitor an alarm system, so when they are activated the appropriate action can be taken.
Jacksons can provide 24/7 monitoring of you alarm system to keep you informed of incidents weather you are home or out.
Jacksons can also provide security patrols and supervisory services.
Your alarm when triggered will make a deafening sound for around 10 minutes.
If installed a light will flash on the front of your premises.
If monitored, a signal is sent to the Jackson alarm monitoring centre and depending upon arrangements a range of actions can be taken, from a phone call or SMS message on your mobile to the dispatch of a security patrol to your premises to investigate.
In a wired system, the sensors communicate with the control panel via cables.
The wireless system’s sensors communicate wirelessly and uses ultra-long lasting batteries (usually 5 years).
For single storey homes where there is a roof cavity, we will be recommending a wired system. The wired system’s cables will run along the roof space.
For homes without a roof space or non-pre-wired double storey homes, we recommend a wireless system as in most cases this is the only way we can install sensors without the wires running along the wall/ceilings. The wireless sensors are very reliable and have a range of up to 100m.
CCTV (closed-circuit television) is a TV system in which signals are not publicly distributed but are monitored, primarily for surveillance and security purposes.
CCTV relies on strategic placement of cameras, and observation of the camera’s input on monitors somewhere.
Access control systems let authorized employees get in and out of various rooms in your business while keeping sensitive or proprietary information out of the wrong hands.
These types of systems can actually be quite simple, with a keypad entry mechanism for one single door, or a large networked system that involves swipe or access cards throughout your business location.
